The table readings will occur between Feb. 1 and March 1. Each reading will include a discussion session afterwards with the cast, director and audience and, when possible, the playwright. The table reading plays are as follows:

American Farce by Michael Reimann – A woman from Max’s past shows up at his door and claims he is the father of her 10 year-old son. Max soon devises a plot to use his estranged son’s uncanny ability to pick race horses to pay off a loan shark.

A Cocaine Comedy by Harrison Young – Richard tries cocaine for the first time moments before two desperate policemen kick down his door. The hijinks quickly escalate as the local news, governor of Texas, and a very special couch lead Richard’s petty crime to making national headlines.

The New Play Festival rounds out with a World Premiere presentation of a new play. This year’s full production is I Am The Way by Scott Strahan, directed by Tom Parkhill.
McRae Allen hates his job, so he finds a new one. He becomes an Internet evangelist and watches the cash, and death threats, come rolling in. I Am The Way runs March 6 – 22, Thursdays – Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 3:00 pm, at Theatre Knoxville Downtown*.
