Hamlet Outloud!

April 27, 2014, 2:00pm

Lawson Mcghee Library

It’s time once again for Shakespeare Outloud! Our next reading is nearly upon us. On Sunday, April 27, we’ll read Hamlet at 2:00 pm in the Lawson McGee Library downtown. A few parts will be cast ahead of time and several will be up for grabs the day of the reading. If you have a strong interest and want to get signed up ahead of time for a role please contact me by e-mail, or by phone at 546-4280. EVERYONE IS WELCOME We welcome all voices, all dialects. We read the plays for the joy of reading them, to hear and discover more about the plays and to further help people discover and appreciate these marvelous plays. We’d love you to be part of it. You may come and grab a script and take part in the reading or you can come and participate as an audience member. Before the reading, Jennifer Horn will provide some fun facts about the play – we call it Shakesology! We will also talk about the play following the reading. It’s free and it’s fun. We hope to see you on Sunday.

Please come see our staged reading of Craig Smith's Birds On The Bat on Saturday, March 22nd, 2 pm at Theatre Knoxville Downtown Carolyn Corley directs this moving play that asks the question, "Is small town life really smaller than life in the big city?" Meet the playwright and give him your thoughts about Birds On The Bat. ... See MoreSee Less

Hi Everyone! We are sold out for tonight, but it's not too late to come join us this weekend for the world premiere of Tic-Toc, a play written by Knoxville playwright, Gayle Greene. Gayle’s play is terrifically funny. Debra Chambers is a successful photographer that has it all. So why won’t her biological clock quit ticking so loudly? With the support of her misguided friends, her nosy mom and competitive sister, Debra takes baby matters into her single-parent hands.

Then he comes in to her life (or was he there all along?).

Tic Toc will run from March 7th through the 23rd at Theatre Knoxville Downtown, 319 N Gay Street, Knoxville, TN. You can reserve tickets on our website at www.tennesseestage.com/home/events .

Also we have a 11 days left on our Indiegogo campaign! Stop by and see what great perks you can get by donating at www.indiegogo.com/projects/new-play-festival-2014.
