About Us

The Tennessee Stage Company is a 501(c) 3 non-profit professional theatre celebrating our 19th season in Knoxville in 2008. Our mission is to enhance the cultural life of the community through performance and education while providing professional opportunities for regional artists. Our goal is to educate and entertain the people of our region, to provide professional opportunities at fair market salaries for regional artists and to promote interaction between new artists and established professionals. We seek to be recognized for high quality artistic production, fiscal responsibility, and commitment to the craft. The Tennessee Stage Company is dedicated to providing quality entertainment that is affordable and accessible to all. The company is governed by a fourteen member working board of directors. We work with local artists, community leaders and local government to promote the arts in downtown Knoxville. The Tennessee Stage Company has four major programs...The Tennessee Stage New Play Festival, Shakespeare on the Square , The Timeless Works Series and our Education & Outreach Program.
