The staged readings will perform on Saturday, March 18 (ESSO MOON) and Saturday, March 25 (FOUR OLD BROADS) at 2:00 PM at Theatre Knoxville Downtown. SUTTON McALLISTER will run March 10–26, also at Theatre Knoxville Downtown. Auditions for all other readings and productions will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM on Monday, January 9, and Tuesday, January 10, also at the Emporium Building, 100 S. Gay St. Table Readings DRACULA: DOWN FOR THE COUNT by Mary Lynn Dobson A comic retelling of the Dracula story. Think, "Young Frankenstein" meets Count Dracula 9 characters – 7 men, 2 women OKRA by Bill Raulerson A comic caper set in backwoods Louisiana with a little magic, a few ghosts, and a very inept police force. 10 characters – 7 men, 3 women THE SENATOR'S WIFE by C. Robert Jones When politics and family collide, they can both end up a little worse for wear. 7 characters – 3 men, 4 women WHEN BLACKBIRDS SING by Gayle Greene A lifetime prison sentence on a questionable conviction leaves a woman who was more a victim in her own to right to desperately seek a connection with a daughter she never knew. 3 characters – 1 man, 2 women Staged Readings FOUR OLD BROADS by Leslie Kimbell A group of sassy senior ladies planning a vacation find out they may all be in danger. If they solve the crime, they might just make it to the cruise. Shenanigans, sequins and romance unfold with a twist you'll never see coming! 7 characters – 1 man, 6 women UNDER THE ESSO MOON by Linda Parsons A young girl growing up in a crumbling family dynamic in an apartment above the gas station run by her stepfather. A dramatic coming-of-age story set in not-long-ago Knoxville. 7 characters – 4 men, 3 women World Premiere Production #2: THE NEARLY FINAL, ALMOST POSTHUMOUS PLAY OF THE NOT-QUITE-DEAD SUTTON McALLISTER by Kris Bauske A backstage comedy of relatively deathly dimensions. 6 characters – 3 men, 3 women These are open auditions with no appointments necessary. All auditions will consist of cold readings from the scripts to be performed. A resume and headshot are helpful, but not necessary.
